Make a Ballet Bun Wrap for the little girl who loves to have their long hair groomed into a bun. Whether they are trying to look like a ballerina or just to keep their long hair out of the way.
Shabby flowers are a delight to use as they are soft and pliable when stitching and placing in the hair. These are so simple to make that you can stitch them up anywhere.
They would also be a great craft for school fetes or dance class fundraisers.
Instructions to make a Ballet Bun Wrap
You will need:
3 x fabric flowers
3 x Rhinestone buttons with shank
Other style rhinestone buttons can be found here – Rhinestone buttons with shank
1m x 9mm grosgrain ribbon
Needle
Matching thread
Fabric glue or Kikusui Double Sided Tape
Heat sealing tool, matches or tea light candle
Trim excess netting from the flowers.
Cut ribbon into 1 x 80cm and 1 x 20cm piece. Heat seal 80cm piece.
Find the centre of the 80cm ribbon and stitch the centre flower there. Without tying off the thread stitch one button in the centre of the flower.
Place the next flower on the ribbon slightly overlapping the centre flower. Stitch in place and add the button.
Overlap the final flower and stitch down then add the button.
Turn your piece upside down. Trim the 20cm piece of ribbon to cover the length of the stitching. Heat seal the ends.
Use fabric glue or double sided tape to attach the smaller piece of ribbon covering all stitching.
Alternatively you could make these with patterned Shabby Flowers, with or without buttons.

These are adorable, thank you for sharing. I may have to get my craft on so I can do this for my daughter and her dancing.
How cute. This would look so gorgeous on.
