I have seen these pretty stars made with fabric and thought why can’t we make them with ribbon!
You will need
22mm width grosgrain ribbon (we used glitter grosgrain ribbon)
4 pieces 28cm long
Scissors
Tealight Candle or wood burner
Hot glue
Ribbon or cord to hang
How to make a Scandinavian Star Ornament with ribbon
Heat seal ends of ribbon
Fold each piece of ribbon at 12cm
Arrange like picture shown
Thread each end through a loop and gently pull tight
Flip it over and fold each of the long strips over moving in a circle. The last one will need to be threaded through as shown.
Pull tightly but not so much as to buckle ribbon.
Take the top right ribbon and fold on a 90 degree angle. You can place a dot of hot glue under this fold to keep the ribbon in place. When using glittler ribbon as we have you will need to place the hot glue on the grosgrain side of the ribbon.
Fold again to make a point.
Now fold back on itself as shown.
Now slip the tail of the ribbon behind the front ribbon into the cavity created by previous folds.
Now work you way around the square creating the points for the star.
Add a loop of 6mm ribbon or thin cord to hang your Ribbon Scandinavian Star Ornament on your tree.
